Indulging in Body Care

What is body care?

Everybody owes some care to their body. The definition of body care varies from person to person. Some people prefer going to a spa or a salon to pamper their body. While others like to do body care regimes at home. Common steps included in a body care regime are cleansing the entire body, scrubbing to get rid of dead skin, then comes shaving or waxing to get rid of unwanted hair and the last step is to moisturise.

How can you care for your body?

Caring for your body doesn’t mean splurging heavily on getting professional body care regimes from a spa. You can take care of your body at home. All you need to do is take out some time and energy to pamper yourself. Follow these steps to clean your body and get fresh soft skin.

1.    Wash up

First step of the body care regimen is to clean your body using a store bought body wash. Squeeze a generous amount of body wash on a body puff or your hand. Now rub it all over your body. Let the body wash stay on for a minute or two. Rinse it off with warm water. Never use hot water for your body as it can open up pores and make your skin dry.

2.    Scrub a dub:

Slightly dry up your body with a towel. Now take out a dollop of your favourite body scrub and start exfoliating the skin gently. If your skin is sensitive, connect with a Skin Specialist in Lahore to get recommendations for a good body scrub. Or you can always make one at home. All you have to do to make your own body scrub is whisk up 5 tbsp of brown sugar with 5 tsp grounded coffee and 4 tbsp spoon honey. Give it all a good mix and you have your own heavenly smelling scrub ready. Apply the prepared scrub on slightly wet skin and start scrubbing gently. Wash the scrub off with warm water.

3.    Shave the right way:

Wait for the water to soften your hair or you can apply a hair conditioner to the body hair to make it soft. Now use a men’s razor to get rid of all the unwanted hair. Using a men’s razor helps in getting a closer shave. You can also wax unwanted hair if waxing suits your skin. Waxing can be tricky so unless you are great at waxing yourself always take help from a professional.

4.    Moisturise, moisturise

The last step of the body care regimen is to moisturise. After drying up the body, generously apply your favourite body butter or a lotion. If your skin is extremely dry a Dermatologist in Karachi recommends using coconut oil as a moisturiser.

Bottom Line:

Very few people have a well-established body care routine. But once set in place a good body care regimen will keep your skin younger looking and fresh even when your body is going through the process of aging.
