Things to Pay Attention During Deep Housekeeping

No one enjoys doing deep housekeeping, but everyone loves to enjoy a clean house. Is there a way to clean your house fast yet efficient?

Most do not know whether they should do the laundry, dust, or set aside the clutter; they do not even know which room to prioritize first. If you are unsure, here are the things you have to pay attention to during deep housekeeping:

Do not leave clutter lying around.

Removing clutters helps you deep clean your home easily. Pick up and put away visible things that do not belong in their place. It is better to declutter every day to help deep cleaning easier and motivates you to clean the house during your off from work.

Start high, go low.

It is best to start on the top if you have a second or third-storey. But, if you do not, tackle first the hard-to-reach surfaces. It helps you gather the dirt and dust thoroughly. This pattern is much more efficient, and it prevents you from feeling that you are in an endless cleaning cycle.

Dust, then vacuum; sweep, then mop.

Wipe all the surfaces with a soft cloth. If the area is already hard to reach, use the vacuum to reach the nooks and crannies. Sweep the floor thoroughly by moving furniture to get the dirt in corners. If you have a hard floor, you can clean it with a mop after sweeping.

Launder bedding, and freshen the mattress.

When deep house cleaning, you do not only have to launder the bedding but also freshen the mattress. You can only wash your beddings and comforters at a laundry delivery service because they are bulky and only fits in extra-large washers and dryers.

While it is still at the laundromat, you must disassemble your bed and fresh the mattress. Sprinkle baking soda and let it sit for an hour, and vacuum the baking soda afterwards. Do the same process on the other side of the mattress.

Declutter closet, launder dirty clothes and put away clean clothes.

You can easily organize your closet if you pull out clothes you do not wear anymore; bag these clothes for donation or consignment. If dirty clothes are in the bin, have them laundered at a laundry service

While your other clothes are in the laundry, have time to put away the clean clothes. Organize them inside your closet.

Disinfect countertops, tubs, sinks, toilets

These hard surfaces are always exposed, if not disinfected, they may transmit germs to people’s hands. Wipe down all these surfaces with a nontoxic disinfectant solution. It removes any microorganisms on the surface and dissolves stains. Find any hidden spots that may have stains or dirt.

Deep housekeeping is a team effort; it is better to designate tasks to make them more manageable. Inviting your household members to make the task more bearable and make the process faster is best. Once you have paid attention to these things, you will soon enjoy a clean and tidy home.
