PHARAOH ANTS

Pharaoh ants are another type of ant that can be found in homes. They get their name from their habit of infesting homes and other buildings, much as the ancient Egyptians did. Pharaoh ants are very small, only about 1/16 inch long. They are light yellow or brown in color and have a dark stripe down their back. Pharaoh ants are small reddish-brown insects that live in colonies with multiple queens, males, workers, and broods (fertilized eggs). Pharaoh ants feed on sweets like sugar or honey but also need protein for energy.
