When does Naruto become the Seventh Hokage?

Before Naruto, the Hidden Leaf Village or Konoha had six village leaders. The leader of each village is supposed to be the strongest and most powerful ninja among all ninjas, and he is known as Kage. Hence, when the current leader becomes weaker and a stronger ninja is present in the village, the latter can replace the current leader as Kage. The Kage of Konoha was called Hokage.

There is no exact point in the televised version of the Boruto series indicating when Naruto becomes Hokage because it was not shown. It is only shown as a short flashback in Episode 18 of the show when Boruto is taking care of his sick sister, Himawari. This upset fans of the series because Naruto achieving his childhood dream as Hokage of Konoha was a highly anticipated part of the show. However, a separate video was released later showing the events of his ceremony.

What is Naruto’s age as Hokage?

There is a time skip between Naruto: Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations; hence we don’t know the exact age and can only make an approximation. At the end of Naruto: Shippuden, Naruto is 17 years old when the Fourth Great Ninja War or Fourth Shinobi World War ends. Kakashi Hatake becomes the Sixth Hokage after the war ends, and he remains in this position for 13 years. Thus, Naruto must be 30 to 31 years old when he becomes the Seventh Hokage.

Why does Naruto become Hokage?

Naruto’s lifelong dream was to become the Hokage of his village. The title was meant only for those most capable and the strongest out of all ninjas in the village, making it an honorable title. Hence, achieving that title meant Naruto would have to work diligently to become a powerful ninja. Being the village leader also meant protecting those in the village and working towards the common good. We see these traits in Naruto’s character through his friendships and devotion to his town.
